MUSIC. Omilani Live Show

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!! From the first note audiences are captivated by the uniqueness of Omilani's voice. She sings to them like she is telling a story. One of my favorites is a modern rendition of Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit"  -- you will find Omilani's "Peculiar Fruit" stunning. She wows audiences with the transition to "Santera de Musica" -  a Salsa song reminiscent of Celia Cruz and La India  yet full of Omilani's sultry yet raspy voice. Next audiences echo the call and response chorus of Omilani's tribute to Bob Marley - "Rebellious".  One thing for certain is that  Omilani is sure to leave audiences on the edge of their seats. Finally she closes with a signature piece, "Flowers, Birds, & Bees" a song dedicated to her grandmother that relates to all people.

Her music hinges on the genres of neo-soul, world music, pop, and reggae - but has a distinct sound and message that can only be  defined as STORYTELLING. You could just as easily enjoy the vibes in an acoustic setting - no music - just voice as Omilani takes you on a journey through time, themes and musical styles.

STORYTELLING. Malik & the Fairy Rasta

AVAILABLE IN SPANISH!!! This multi-media presentation merges storytelling with music and the important message of anti-bullying.

The story of Malik takes participants on a journey  through the life of a young boy who is teased in school for his small size - he wishes to be other than himself and meets a Fairy Rasta who grants him wishes that ultimately lead him to love himself.

This workshop can be done for small groups or for entire schools. Other stories with similar positive messages are available upon request. The music, song, and visual aids are available in Spanish as well.

MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKING. "Takes a Village"
